Seminole Hard Rock released opening dates and detailed plans for the final results of the $2.2 billion expansions to their Florida locations.

The Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Hotel & Casino will be opening their iconic guitar-shaped hotel on October 24, and the Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Hotel & Casino will be opening their new massive expansion on October 3.

Hard Rock International Chairman and Seminole Gaming CEO Jim Allen said in a statement:

“It will put South Florida on the map as a world-class gaming destination, and it will have a huge economic impact on Florida. The gaming industry will never be the same.”

Hard Rock Hollywood Plans

Of course the highlight of the Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood is the guitar-shaped hotel, a massive building shaped like back-to-back guitars as symbolized by guitar strings on both sides of the building.

The new guitar building will have 638 guestrooms and suites. There is another seven-story tower that will also be opened that will feature 168 new guestrooms, featuring several swim-up suites connected to the pools. The total rooms available for the hotel will total 1,271.

The casino will be expanded to 195,000 square feet. They plan to have 3,100 slot games, 200 table games, and a new poker room with 45 tables. There will also be a high limits slots room, non-smoking slots room, and a VIP lounge for high rolling players.

The new grand entrance was highlighted by Seminole Hard Rock. The Oculus as it’s known will be the signature attraction of the entrance hall, and will have water, fire, and other unnamed elements coordinated into choreographed floor-to-ceiling shows in time with music.

The new Hard Rock Live theatre will have a capacity of 7,000 for various events, including “entertainment acts, broadcast productions, award shows and more.” They expect to have 200 nights of entertainment per year, and will be opened by Adam Levine and Maroon 5.

Hard Rock Tampa

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Tampa is also going through a major expansion, one eagerly awaited by those in the area. Worth $700 million, the expansion features a new 14-story hotel tower, three pools, and an expanded gambling floor.

The expanded gambling floor will be significantly larger than the Hollywood location, at 245,000 square feet. Hard Rock claims that when the renovations are done, there’ll be almost 5,000 slots and 179 table games.

There will also be a new state-of-the-art poker room featuring 46 tables. They’ll offer various poker games, WPT Regional Tournaments, a sports bar, snack bar, and 42 tv screens. There will also be a private gaming parlor on the top floor of the new tower for VIP guests.

The centerpiece of the new Grand Entrance of the hotel will be the 24-karat gold leaf plated Elvis Presley piano. The 1928 Kimball Piano Company Grand Piano was acquired by Hard Rock in 2015. It’s been in storage since then, but will be on permanent display in Tampa.

The new hotel tower will have 562 guestrooms, and there will be 60,000 square feet of new pools for guests to enjoy. The new Hard Rock Event Center will have a capacity of 2,000, as well as a 17,000 square foot ballroom for larger events.
