Delaware Sets Monthly iGaming Revenue Record in September
Delaware set records for iGaming revenue in September.
For the month, Delaware’s net profit from iGaming was $384,830, the most in any month since the state’s records began in 2013, according to the Delaware Lottery. The previous high for monthly iGaming revenues in the state was $337K in September 2018.
The only other month this year that topped $300K in net profit was May at $313,648.
September also set a state record for revenue derived from table games. Those brought in $171,155 on $7.9 million wagered. That easily surpassed the mark of $137,371 set in April 2014.
Table Games, Video Lottery Nearly Even
The split between table games and video lottery was nearly even with video lottery coming in at $192,750 ($3.89 million was bet).
This was the first month all year that not only were both that close but both table games and video lottery took in over $100,000. In total bets, March set the high mark in 2019 for wagers on table games with $10.9 million and August had the most in video lottery bets, $4.8 million.
The iGaming month-on-month spending dropped from $12.5 million in August to $11.8 million in September. But both were well above July when the total iGaming handle was $7.9 million.
Through September, Delaware has taken in $2.68 million in total iGaming revenue in 2019 with bettors wagering around $96.5 million along the way.
Delaware Park continues to be the top place for the state’s gamblers. In September, Delaware Park saw around $7.02 million bet and $6.9 million paid out for a net profit of $126,413. This was the highest total action since March when the amount played was $8.37 million and the amount won was $8.25 million.
Next up in money bet, but leading in net profit, for September was Dover Downs. The location took in $198,373 in net profit from $3.83 million played and $3.64 million won. This was the best net profit of the year for Dover Downs with August coming in at second at $142,237.
Last is Harrington Raceway which took in a net profit of $60,043 in September on $957,008 handle and $899,973 won. This was the first month since June that the amount played and amount won were both under $1 million there. March is still the best net profit month for Harrington Raceway in 2019 at $71,360.
Dover Downs has big jackpot winner
On Sept. 8, one anonymous online player took home a $242,233.94 jackpot playing the Steampunk Nation video lottery game with Dover Downs Hotel & Casino’s iGaming website.
This marks the first time any customer has won the jackpot playing the Steampunk Nation game, which was added to new online casino platforms at Dover Downs in May 2018.
