WinStar Casino Review

Owned and operated by the Chickasaw Nation, WinStar World Casino and Resort, located in Thackerville, Oklahoma, is the largest casino in the world at over 500,000 square feet. WinStar brings that formidable muscle into the online space with a social casino, showcasing some of that flair to the rest of the country.

Let’s see if the magic of 500,000 square feet translates well into the social casino realm.

Payment Options

  • VISA
  • MasterCard
  • American Express
  • Discover
  • PayPal

Being a social casino, there is no actual “real” money wagered at WinStar. However, players can purchase virtual currency, chips, to use on the site, with differing amounts for $9.99-$999.99. These can be bought with credit cards or PayPal. Upon first purchase, players get a significant amount more extra.

For withdrawals, well, there is no actual withdrawals. With this being a social casino, players do not earn real money. Purchasing virtual currency is for entertainment purposes.

Welcome Bonus

The welcome bonus at WinStar comes in the form of free chips. In fact, players will receive 11,550 chips when they sign up, which is equivalent to just over $6, if you convert the bonus chips into real dollars.

Pros/Cons

Pros

  • Plenty of casino game offerings
  • Nice welcome offer
  • Exquisite interface

Cons

  • Nothing to spend chips on, though players can purchase them

Desktop/Mobile Experience

While most social casinos do not usually have mobile apps, WinStar is the exception, with having them both for Android and iOS. And of course, WinStar is also available on desktop and on mobile web browsers.

Looking at the desktop platform, at the top of the screen, there are a few links, including the games and promotions page. The promotions page includes things like the popular Community Chip Challenge. This is for once WinStar reaches a sitewide certain amount of spins, players will receive 25 percent back of their wager, with no cap.

In the upper-right hand corner, near the login/registration buttons, there is a drop-down menu with links to messages, notifications and your balance.

On the home page, there are links to the different game types. Once these are clicked on, the games are shown. After you click on the game, it will load up. Not to mention there is also a featured games section.

In addition to the drop-down menu, there is also another side menu with links to purchase chips, view messages, or send requests to friends to also play at WinStar.

WinStar’s mobile app is really quite similar, and has received high praise. For instance, it has a 4.2-star rating on the iOS App Store with over 4,000 reviews.

Game Variety at WinStar

  • 4 table games, including Fortune 52, Hi-Lo Solitaire, Blackjack and Roulette
  • 11 Video Poker titles including Fever Aces, Jacks or Better, Cash Draw Poker, Deuces Wild, Double-Double Regal Poker, amongst more
  • 4 Tournaments
  • 7 Keno and Bingo titles including Fire Ball Action, Empire Action, Ancient Thunder, and Tropical Vacation Keno
  • Well over 100 slot titles, including a progressive jackpot slot in Crazy Money II.

Social casinos are unique. They’re unlike traditional online casinos in that there are not additional software developer and the games are all made “in-house”. Because of this, there are games you’ll never find anywhere else. Some examples of this are 0 Dolphins, African Diamond, Amazon Jewels, American Gold Rush, Ancient Dragon and Atomic Meltdown.

There is somewhat of a VIP Lounge, too. Titled the “Loyalty Lounge”, players will need a Club Passport and 50,000 chips to play four exclusive titles: Triple Gems, Luck Miner, Double Bulls Eye Jackpot and Tiger Tiger.

Social Community at WinStar

The social community at WinStar is strong, though it’s really limited to Facebook. There is Twitter and Instagram, but it’s mostly dedicated to the brick-and-mortar facility.

On Facebook, there are over 11,000 likes and each post has numerous interactions, hundreds even. Also, WinStar promotes free chips and other promotions, too.

Lastly, there is also a direct link to the WinStar Social Casino on the Facebook page, too.

Customer Support

Sticking with the social theme, the customer support is done mostly online, on Facebook. Simply visit the Facebook page and send them a message!

But of course, there are more traditional methods. At the bottom of the page, there is a “Contact Us” button. Here, there are links to a live chat, as well as an email link. Both of these methods are available 24/7.

Responsible Gambling Features

There is a link to Responsible Gaming toward the bottom of the page. However, there is not a page that WinStar has, but rather a direct link to the National Council on Problem Gambling.

Our Verdict

Social casinos are meant to be fun and interactive, and WinStar delivers and then some with that. The interface is extremely intuitive, there are plenty of games and the community, especially on the Facebook page, is extremely active. If you want that same online casino feel, WinStar definitely will give you that experience.
