Live since the initial launch of online casinos in New Jersey back on November 26, 2013, Tropicana Casino is just one of five total casinos that are part of that illustrious club.
Licensed and regulated by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, let’s take a closer look at Tropicana Casino, and see how they stack up in this ever-evolving world of online gambling.
Unlike a lot of online casinos which offer welcome bonuses such as matches on initial deposits, Tropicana Casino offers something a bit different. After depositing a minimum of $10, players will receive up to $100 in cash back, pending the amount of your deposit.
This is good for the first seven days after your account creation. So, say you deposit the full $100, if you lose it all, you will get it all back and it can also be withdrawn as cash, too.
Tropicana Casino is offered on all platforms, including desktop and mobile applications for both Android and iOS. For iOS users, you can simply visit the app store and search for the casino and it will appear. For Android users, visit the site from your Android device and the site will automatically prompt you to download the app.
Looking at the desktop version of the casino, it is relatively bland, but they cover all the necessary components for an online casino. At the top of the screen you’ll find the links to the registration process, followed by the following links such below that: Home, Slots, Casino, 90 Ball Bingo, Promotions, Free and Blog, in that order.
Unlike many online casinos, the home page does not have the games, so you will need to click on “Slots” or “Casino” to go to those areas of the site. This functions are the filter for game types as well.
This is actually an approach that we can get on board with. It’s a bit unorthodox compared to others, but it’s different in a good way. The home page does have graphics for advertising things such as their Community Jackpot, which we will cover shortly.
On the mobile app, it is definitely more condensed, with the same graphics for the Community Jackpot, but now on the front page of the app there is a search bar with their mobile game offerings below that.
There is also a drop-down menu in the upper-left hand corner of the screen, which has links to topics such as Responsible Gaming, Promotions and their FAQ section. It’s a bit different going from desktop to mobile and vice-versa, but nothing that cannot be figured out relatively easy.
As of right now there are no live dealer games. To bring these games to life, Tropicana Casino partnered up with Gamesys, which handles how the games run and they do an excellent job maintaining them and making sure they are in working order.
We must discuss the Community Jackpot feature here. This comes from just playing games on the site. At some point, though, a key might appear on the screen. When you click on this, you have a chance to win. There are four possible tiers:
However, that’s not all. If you win, everyone who wagered on the site within the last hour will win a share of a prize up to $20,000. So, just play as your normally would and perhaps you could strike gold (or even platinum, no pun intended).
With so many games to choose from at Tropicana Casino, it’s difficult to explain the exact minimum and maximum amounts on betting limits as they vary from game to game. However, you will be able to tell upon logging into any one of the games.
There is a VIP Program, but with that, there doesn’t appear to be any additional high stakes games to choose from or wager with.
Tropicana Casino offers four methods for customer support: Live chat, FAQ section, email and phone support. The FAQ covers pretty much everything you’d want to know about.
The email is done by filling out a form on the site, where you put your email, name, subject and a message. The live chat is done in a similar format, only you’ll submit the form and a live chat option will appear. As mentioned, there is phone support via a toll free number.
In the top right-hand corner of the website, you’ll find a green logo for Responsible Gaming. When you click on this, you are brought to a page where they offer different organizations and hotlines you should inquire with if you feel you’re having an issue or contact their customer service representatives. Of course, they are not professionals in this manner, but it is someone to contact.
Tropicana also discusses knowing your limits and setting boundaries for yourself if you feel like you’re having a problem.
Additionally, they also have a list of questions to ask yourself if you’re feeling like you may have an issue and also have preventative measures to prevent minors from gambling on their site.
However, what really demonstrated to us that they take this seriously is that, in the FAQ section there is a prompt about how to get VIP status on the site. They could have easily said to bet “x” amount of dollars or spend “x” amount of time on the site, but they urged players to not worry about that and play at their own pace—that shows they truly do care about the well-being of their customer base.
While there isn’t a ton of slots to choose from, Tropicana Casino does well with innovation in terms of their welcome offer and their Community Jackpot feature. Not to mention they have quite the library of table games as well. If they were able to add some live dealer games and get PayPal as an acceptable method for banking on the site, Tropicana Casino could be quite the hot spot.
If not for anything, being involved with the Community Jackpot should give you all the reason to try Tropicana Casino.
